Vehicles in German City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Police state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then discovered many other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police say preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the community for tips.

An important political figure said the attack made him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
